Information we collect

To form and maintain your company, we collect the information state agencies and the IRS require: your name, address, date of birth, and identification details for owners and officers; your proposed company name and entity type; and payment information for filing fees and subscriptions.

We also collect usage information automatically — device type, IP address, and how you interact with your dashboard — and use a small number of cookies for authentication, analytics, and customer support.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• Prepare and submit your formation filing with the relevant Secretary of State
• Apply for your EIN with the IRS
• Act as your registered agent, where selected, and forward official mail
• Send filing status updates, compliance reminders, and support responses
• Detect fraud and keep the platform secure

When we share your information

Filing your company necessarily means sharing certain details with state agencies and the IRS — that's the service you're asking us to perform. Beyond that, we share information only with:

• Banking partners you choose to connect with, such as Mercury
• Service providers who process payments or host our infrastructure under contract, bound to use data only to provide their service
• Law enforcement or regulators, when we are legally required to respond

We don't sell your data

triffy does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or advertisers, and we never will. Where a form field is not legally required for your filing, we leave it blank rather than collect it by default.

Data protection and retention

Personal and company information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the systems and people who need it to do their jobs. We retain formation and compliance records for as long as required by state and federal recordkeeping rules — typically up to seven years after your account closes — and delete or anonymize other data once it is no longer needed.

International founders

Many triffy customers form their company from outside the US. Your information is processed and stored in the United States regardless of where you're located, using safeguards appropriate for cross-border transfers.

Your rights and choices

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, or opt out of marketing email at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. Because formation and tax records are legally required to be retained for a period of time, some deletion requests may be limited until that period ends.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll notify account holders by email before it takes effect.
